ECHDC Task Groups |

In November 2010, ECHDC Chairman Jordan Levy created three task
groups charged with activating the Historic District, the Buffalo
River and the Outer Harbor for the summer of 2011. These join the
existing Cultural Task Group and Canalside Public Art Selection Task
Group. This presentation provides an overview of ECHDC’s plans for the Summer of 2011 and for the Public Canals which will be completed in the summer/fall of 2012. The Historic Task Group is focused on the historic Canal Side District on the Inner Harbor. The Buffalo River Task Group is chaired by Julie Barrett O’Neill and is working on plans for the Buffalo River and Ohio Street Corridor. The Outer Harbor Task Group is chaired by David Colligan and is dedicated to implementing programs and improvements on the Outer Harbor. The Cultural Task Group has been chaired by Maureen O. Hurley since 2007 and committed to integrating cultural programming into the Canal Side District in order to tell “The Story of Buffalo.”
The Art Selection Task Group's goal is to identify an artist or group of artists who can create an iconic art work or set of art experiences for Buffalo’s Canalside. |
